The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is how the Government and early years professionals describe the time in your child’s life between birth and age 5. This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes.
Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development.
Children should mostly develop the three prime areas first. These are:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas. These are:
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
At Meganursery we use these seven areas to plan your child’s learning and activities, suited to each child’s unique needs and personality. Children learn by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside. Our wide range of activities at Meganursery helps our learners to absorb more all whilst having fun.
The nursery has a key-persons system in operation. Your child will be given a member of staff who will be responsible for the initial settling-in period, this will enable your child to form a bond with his/her key-persons helping their transition into Meganursery be a smooth, peaceful and happy one for you both!
