Hope For the City

Hope City Foundation is the result of over 20 years of social change initiatives being developed and delivered through the work of the Megacentre in Sheffield.  The Megacentre, an enterprise and community hub founded in 1998. It has been the birthplace and home of a wide array of enterprises designed to support society’s most disadvantaged and improve aspiration and life opportunities for people across Sheffield and further afield.

Over the last two decades The Megacentre has developed a track record in turning enterprising ideas into social impact.  These have included:

  2. Adult Education Programmes
  3. Youth and Schools work
  4. Support for the Elderly

This is to combat the huge issues of food and financial poverty across the city. There are further developments to come as we ease out of lockdown which are multifaceted and look to benefit every generation!

Planned Capital Development

Our 2022 vision is two-fold:

  1. To build a new community facility alongside the current Megacentre in Sheffield
  2. To repurpose the Megacentre to scale up our community work and increase our impact.

In conjunction with Hope City Church, plans are underway to a stylish new facility which incorporating a large state-of-the-art auditorium and ancillary rooms for business and community use alike.

Plans are moving ahead to undertake essential work on the Megacentre which has faithfully served the Sheffield community since 1998.  In conjunction with the planned opening of the new facility, the Megacentre will also be repurposed to achieve our vision of maximising the benefit it will bring as a community asset.
