Hope For the City

Hope City Foundation is the result of over 20 years of social change initiatives being developed and delivered through the work of the Megacentre in Sheffield.  The Megacentre, an enterprise and community hub founded in 1998 by Hope City Church has been the birthplace and home of a wide array of enterprises designed to support society’s most disadvantaged and improve aspiration and life opportunities for people across Sheffield and further afield.

Over the last two decades The Megacentre has developed a track record in turning enterprising ideas into social impact.  These have included:

  1. Support for Asylum Seekers and Refugees
  2. Adult Education Programmes
  3. Youth and Schools work
  4. Support for the Elderly
  5. Emergency Food Relief
  6. Children’s Play, Childcare and Early Years Education
  7. Practical community makeover projects
  8. Training and mentorship for small and start-up businesses
  9. Citywide Events to Celebrate our City’s unsung heroes.
  10. Supporting career and business development

The Megacentre’s connection with Hope City Church has continued to release the potential of hundreds of volunteers over the years, intent on serving their community.

Hope City Foundation is the Charity throughout which these social programmes are now delivered.  Hope City Foundation is a registered charity number 1102542 and a company limited by guarantee 4489582.

The Charity’s trading activity is delivered through its subsidiary Hope City Enterprises Ltd, a company limited by shares number 04659526 (formerly known as Megacentre Limited).

Hope City Foundation is funded through the generous donations of individuals, grant making trusts and foundations and by generating its own income through trading activities. If you would like to support our work please contact us at donate@hopecity.foundation

Planned Capital Development

Our 2022 vision is two-fold:

  1. To build a new community facility alongside the current Megacentre in Sheffield
  2. To repurpose the Megacentre to scale up our community work and increase our impact.

In conjunction with Hope City Church, plans are underway to a stylish new facility which incorporating a large state-of-the-art auditorium and ancillary rooms for business and community use alike.
